Create a Node.js Server

  1. Go to . Download and install the latest version of Node.js
  2. Open up Visual Studio Code (or what ever editor you prefer) and create a project/folder
  3. Use the node package manager to install express (npm install –save express)
    • Express is a framework that provides a few more features on top of Node.js making working with Node.js easier. It basically helps you manage everything, from routes, to handling requests and views.
  4. Create a file called server.js which is part of your front end application
  5. Create another file called serverApp.js which is essentially your backend server, your connection to the data layer and to serverside functions
